Watch Me......

AP has been out of sorts. She has a lot on her mind lately so yesterday I thought I'd do a couple things to cheer her up.

1st I did my best "look how handsome I am" pose in my wheels in the snow.

Then when she got home from work I did my "watch me" stand and walk for her.....

Then I let her sleep for 5 hours straight before getting her up.
Yup just doing my part to make her happy.

Hurricane Sandy Blows Us to The Sea Witch Festival

AP here:
With the approach of hurricane Sandy I had to go to the beach today to secure the camper and all the deck furniture. I decided at the last minute to take Tonka with me. It was not on our original schedule of events for the day but it had to be done and the window of opportunity really only left us today as the best choice. We stuck some Jimmy Buffett in the CD player and away we went.

Tonka has not been down to the beach in a long time so he was very happy when we got there and his friend Wally was there.

Wally

Wally and his friends walked around with Tonka while I took care of the camper (thanks guys).

Then we headed down to the beach so I could see how high the surf was breaking and to my surprise the Sea Witch Festival was going on. Normally the festival is on our calendar of things to do but this year has been a little off since the Tonka Man has not been able to walk. The new Eddies Wheels has changed all that and our usual events will be back on track for next year. Tonka loves the festival and we usually dress up and walk in the parade.

It took a little while to find a parking spot that would accommodate for his ramp but once we were parked and out he was ready to roll. The Sea Witch Festival is a big deal with adults, kids and dogs all dressed up for Halloween so there were people everywhere. We got stopped every two feet so someone could pet him or take a picture which means he was in heaven. He did run over one persons foot with the wheels but we apologized and I thought that was pretty good since it was so crowded.
We stopped in Odysea to see our buddy Rick

Rick

and then headed down to the boardwalk.

We met some witches along the way

Good Witches

and a new four legged friend

Millie

We went down to the the beginning of the beach and Tonka got to walk in the sand a little ways. He really wanted to go all the way to the surf but I knew he would get stuck so I had to turn him around.

Horses

There were horses on the beach giving kids rides and Tonka loves horses. His nose was straight up in the air smelling for them and I had to drag him away.

Once we were in the truck he was out for the count.

Shopping at the Depot

AP took me with her today to run all her errands and I got to go shopping at the Home Depot.

I have already lost some little rubber feet pieces off of my wheels so we went to go ask the guy in hardware if they had anything to replace them with. I was a little nervous once we got in the store since there were so many sounds and smells. A really nice employee came up to me and got down on my height and was scratching behind my ears and told me he wanted to take me home with him.
AP muttered that if he knew how much work I was he would change his mind about that - she thinks she is soooo funny.
We explained what we were looking for and he took us to the aisle where we could maybe find it. I wasn't nervous anymore and followed right along and he was very impressed that I knew my right from my left.
We didn't find exactly what we were looking for so AP is going to email Eddies Wheels and get some new pieces. Everyone was really nice and helpful and I got a ton of hugs and kisses. We got stopped in the aisles a few times and created some little traffic jams with people giving me some love and attention. A few people were not happy and gave AP a dirty look for blocking the aisle but she told me they were just jealous they don't have cool wheels like me.
By the time we got up by the checkout we had quite a crowd and one of the ladies kept kissing me and told me I can come back anytime.

I had so much fun I would like to go back tomorrow!

It's too early for Christmas

We could use some Pumpkins

These smell nice

So do these

Should we get some

Lets get the big one

Pleeezzz

Rolling right along (Tonka hanging at the park in his Eddies Wheels)

AP here:
It has been a long time since Tonka has been at the park with his friends so today I packed him up in the truck with his new Eddies Wheels and away we went. He had a good afternoon and ran into quite a few of his friends (both fur and 2 legged) including one of his kids that he used to walk with in the park on his way to school in the mornings.

Everyone Sniffing

I haven't "seen" you in sooo Long
He is still getting used to maneuvering in his new cart which has to be a little harder to learn for a blind dog. He also does not understand the concept that he is strong enough to "pull" over obstacles but we are working on that and learning some new commands along the way. All in all though he had a great time being out and about with his friends.
