Don't Eat Glass

So AP says there is a five minute rule with me and if no one has seen me for 5 minutes I am probably doing something I shouldnt. Well I went out to go potty and started up my ramp to the porch and those plastic light covers on the bottom rail were just sitting there waiting to be played with. I popped one off with my foot and it got away from me, I started looking for it with my nose and found this little piece that seemed interesting so I pulled it with my mouth and it came loose. It was kind of crunchy and didn't taste like much so I went back to looking for the plastic piece. Five minutes must have been up because AP came outside and stared fussing about the plastic piece being off and then she got really upset- something about the bulb being missing and then she was checking my gums and my tongue. She called the Dr. and they told her to feed me 10 pieces of bread (which I loved) and to bring me in if i started throwing up. I really could not understand all the fuss over eating a 1 inch lightbulb. I did get sick the next day so they took some x-rays and it turned out I ate a leaded glass light bulb so the filament and all the little peices showed up really well. All came out well in the end :)

Stupid Baby Tooth

I am such a big boy now but apparently my 1 baby tooth didn't think so and wouldnt come out. I had to have it surgically removed and I was not happy about the whole process. I couldnt eat this morning and then they gave me medicine that made me sleepy and next thing I knew my tooth was out and I was feeling weird. The only good thing was that all my friends at GAVH took turns fussing over me, and I do love to be fussed over.

Obedience Class

AP has been taking me to Annapolis to learn Dog Obedience which is just a fancy way of saying do what your told. I had fun with my instructor Laurie Neomany and AP. Turns out I am pretty smart for a little guy. My figure 8's are not very pretty and my formal recall always ends up a little crooked but I earned my certificate.

Adopted

I was adopted from my rescue home in Virginia on tax day and taken to my new forever home in Maryland. My new human had a friend drive while I laid in the backseat with my new forever mom, AP. I was a little nervous but AP started singing to me and I soon fell asleep.

When I woke up we were at my new house that has a big back yard and had been Tonka proofed. AP spent a whole week making sure the electric cords in the house were wrapped in a tough plastic and that the back yard was all fenced off with plastic fencing so I couldn't get into anything that might hurt me. She cut all the tree branches that were down low off so I couldn't get poked in the eye and put fresh cedar mulch around all the trees so I could feel and smell where they were. All the objects with corners in the house were scented with vanilla and a carpet runner was put down from my crate to the back door.

After checking out my yard and my new crate we were off to meet the vet. I don't think anyone had ever seen a puppy before because they were all fussing over me. I met Dr. Woodburn and he looked in my eyes and ears and listened to my heart and looked at my belly where I had my hernia surgery. He said I was A OK and would see me again real soon for shots.

When we got home I had a hard time with the steps but the house has a ramp so I can go down the ramp out the side of the house and get to the back yard. I think I am going to like it here.

My First Operation

This is me before my surgery - I was not only born with bad eyes but I had a hernia that had to be repaired before I could be adopted. Pitiful looking aren't I.

Such a Little Guy

This is me at the Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue in Virginia
before I was adopted. I had great fun with Victoria who took really good care of me. That is the couch that I loved to jump off of.
